Prerequisites:
- University account
- Smartphone/tablet on which an Authenticator app is installed.
This article deals with:
- Initial login to the SSO portal
- Rolling out a TOTP(/mobile phone) token for everyday login
Initial login (without existing token):
1. Receive mail token:
- Log in under https://sso.haw-landshut.de with your university data
- Click on the button below Register token (in section 2 Factor: Token)
- You will receive an e-mail (to the university address: @haw-landshut.de) with the serial number of the newly created mail token
2. Log in:
- Then restart the token procedure and check your e-mails. You will now receive an e-mail with the login code
You must then delete the e-mail token during the following steps delete it
Roll out token for login (please do this immediately afterwards)
1. 2FA token:
- Click on 2FA token
2. Token overview:
- Click on Roll out token
3. Token configuration:
- Configure the TOTP token as shown in the graphic
Important: If you want to use the APP „Google-Authenticator, please change the Hash algorithm to sha1 and the time step to 30 seconds.
4. Scan QR code:
- Scan the QR code with your Authenticator app
- The 6-digit number, which is renewed in the Authenticator app every 30 seconds, then serves as the password for the 2nd factor when logging in.
Info:
- If the roll-out process was carried out in the browser of the smartphone/tablet, which would have to scan the code, the link shown below can also be clicked at the word „here“. This allows the token to be transferred to Free OTP even without a QR code.
- For IOS devices that use Free OTP, additional information is requested after scanning: Simply enter „HAW Landshut“ as the token provider. All other settings can be selected as required.
