Installation of FortiClient on MacOS:
On the homepage of the manufacturer Fortinet you will find under https://www.fortinet.com/support/product-downloads#vpn the installation files, scroll to „FortiClient VPN“ and use the corresponding button under Download VPN for MacOS.
Important: If the download from the manufacturer does not work, you can choose from one of the two mirrors:
Start the download with the online installer for Tahoe:
A message appears stating that this installer has been downloaded from the Internet. To run this, click Open is selected.
Click on this to start the installation.
Installation:
Click on „Continue“.
The licence conditions are accepted by clicking on „Continue“ and then clicking on „Accept“ in the pop-up.
Click on „Install software“ and enter the admin password.
The installation is successfully completed as soon as this window appears:
The Forticlient now requests access authorisation to the network:
„OK“ must be selected here.
Now open the Forticlient via the taskbar:
Accept the licence agreement:
Click on „Configure VPN“:
Select „Edit VPN“ via the 3 dashes and enter the following:
Connection Name: HAW-Landshut Description: - Can be freely selected Remote Gateway: vpn1.haw-landshut.de Port: 443 Client Certificate: None
Save the configuration with „Save“ and then log in with the normal access data. The connection should be established.
