Export to *.pst from Exchange email inbox:

Open MS Outlook

  1. In the top left-hand corner, left-click on the „File“ tab:

  1. In the next window, first click on „Open and Export“ and then select „Import/Export“:

  1. The import/export wizard appears. Tick „Export to file“ here. Once it is highlighted in blue, click Next:

  1. In the „Export to a file“ window, select the sub-item „Outlook data file (.pst)“. After it is highlighted in blue, click Next.

  1. In the „Export Outlook data file“ window, please select your mailbox (highlighted in blue). Check whether the tick „Include in subfolders“ is set, if not please set it and then click on Next.

  1. In the new window, click on „Browse“ to select the storage location:

  1. Select your C: drive on the left-hand side and then click on new folder.

  1. A new folder will open at the bottom. You can rename this folder, e.g. Outlook.

  1. Once the folder has been created, double-click on it. You should now be in the path of the folder you created. At the bottom under File name you can enter a name of your choice (in the example „Backup“). Then confirm with OK.

  1. The new selected path is now displayed and you can click on „Finish“.

  1. Please assign a password for your backup file and click OK

  1. Another window will open. Please enter your password again and confirm with OK.

  1. The progress of your data backup will then be displayed. Please do not click on „Cancel“ until the process is complete. The backup time varies depending on the size of the mailbox.

Integrate PST file into Outlook

After the export, you will find a PST file in the specified folder. You can later integrate this file into Outlook. (see instructions: Integrate PST file into Outlook)
