Apply for a SMIME certificate from the provider HARICA
Since January 2025, it is possible, as an employee of Landshut University of Applied Sciences, to apply for a SMIME certificate from the new provider HARICA (Hellenic Academic & Research Institutions Certification Authority).
1. log in to the SSO portal and select the tile „E-Mail certificates“
2. click on „Request certificate“:

3. search for „Landshut“ in the next window and select „University of Applied Sciencens Landshu - 2FA“ from the list of results:
4. after that you will land in the HARICA-Certificate Manager. Select „Email“ from the menu on the left:
5. select the 1 type „Email only“:
6. press „Next“ in the next window:
7. the correct method for e-mail validation is already preselected, you only need to press „Next“ here:
8. tick the box next to Confirm and press „Submit“:
9. you will then receive an e-mail. Click on „Confirm“ in the e-mail, or if this does not work, copy the link from the „Confirm“ button and open it in the same browser in which you are already logged into the HARICA-Manager.
10. once your e-mail address has been validated, you can set a password for the certificate and download the certificate. To do this, click on the „Enroll your certificate“ button in HARICA Manager → My Dashboard:
11. in the next window, enter your password and then click on „Enroll Certificate“:
12. download your certificate:
13. you will find a file „Certificate.p12“ in your download folder. You can install this file with Doppelclik. Follow the instructions there. You will be asked for the password from point 11:
