"eduroam" integration for Google Android OS:
If you have already integrated „eduroam“ but this connection no longer works, start with the item Delete "eduroam" configuration in the further course of this wiki page.
Establish an "eduroam" connection:
Make sure that you have an internet connection (e.g. via @BayernWLAN).
To set up via the „geteduroam“ app, this can be obtained free of charge from the </ignore>Google Play Appstore free of charge.
To do this, open the Google Play Store
on your Android smartphone.
Search for eduroam
.
Results page:
Tap on the app geteduroam
:
Install the app:
After successful installation, open the „geteduroam“ app.
Search for „Landshut“.
For Organisation, select „Landshut University of Applied Sciences - …“.
The user name is your unique user ID (for example s-max1234
) at Landshut University of Applied Sciences. Then enter the corresponding password and tap on the „Log in“ button.
If successful, the following messages will appear:
You are now connected to the WLAN „eduroam“.
If your device has already saved settings for the „eduroam“ network, these can be deleted as follows. The function can then be restored using the instructions above.
As there are countless Android appearances (themes, launchers) and manufacturer-specific customisations in the menus, these instructions are only a guide for your device.
Delete the "eduroam" configuration:
Start the settings of your Android device:
Select the category for WLAN connection (here Connections):
Again, select WLAN…
and stay on the „eduroam“ entry for approx. 1 second to open the context menu and select „Remove network“.
Now you can restore the function with the „geteduroam“ app as described above.
